About the Artists

Artist Bios
Conspirare is a distinguished, nonprofit choral ensemble established in Austin in 1991 by conductor Craig Hella Johnson—and today performs across the U.S. and abroad. Built around a core of professional singers, Conspirare also includes a Symphonic Choir of auditioned volunteers and active youth choirs for singers ages 8–16.
Their landmark recording The Sacred Spirit of Russia won the 2015 Grammy Award for Best Choral Performance; several other albums—including Threshold of Night and Requiem—have received Grammy nominations and international acclaim, including the prestigious Edison Award in the Netherlands.
Conspirare is renowned for creating rich, immersive choral programs that explore sacred and secular texts, commission new music, and blur creative boundaries—including acclaimed projects like Considering Matthew Shepard, a powerful oratorio that reached No. 4 on Billboard’s Traditional Classical Chart and earned a Grammy nomination.
With a mission to harness music’s power to change lives, they perform annually in Austin, in touring engagements, and engage communities through educational outreach, “Big Sings,” and accessible choral experiences for all.
Although they are based in Austin this will be Conspirare's first performance in Blanco County.
