What to Expect

Whether it’s your first concert or your hundredth, you’re welcome here. At Blanco Performing Arts, our artists share stories and insights from the stage to help you connect with the music. Some concerts include deeper program notes online, and all offer a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Come as you are—BPA is a place to enjoy great music and great company.

Frequently Asked Questions & Concert Etiquette

What should I wear?
Come as you are—whether that means your favorite cowboy hat, your Sunday best, or something comfy and casual. All styles are welcome.

Is it okay to clap?
Absolutely! We love when you show your appreciation for the music. If you're wondering, “Is it okay to clap now?” the answer is always yes. Even between movements? Yep.

Do I need to know anything about classical music to enjoy the concert?
Not at all. Our concerts are designed for everyone, from first-timers to lifelong fans. Our artists often speak from the stage to introduce pieces and share what to listen for.

How long are the concerts?
Most concerts run around 90 minutes and which includes intermission.

Are kids welcome?
Yes! We believe music is for everyone. In fact, for every concert we offer six free student tickets, with additional student tickets priced as just $10. While our concerts are generally geared toward adults, children who are able to sit and listen respectfully are always welcome.

Will there be program notes?
For select concerts, we offer in-depth program notes on our website. You can read them in advance or explore more after the performance.

Can I meet the performers?
Yes! One of the joys of BPA is the chance to meet our friendly artists after the concert. They love hearing what you thought of the music.

Where do the concerts take place?
Most of our performances are held at the Uptown Blanco Ballroom, except for the summer community concert held in the Uptown Blanco Courtyard. You’ll find directions, parking info, and venue details here.

Will you mail my tickets?

Once you purchase single tickets online you will get an email receipt, which serves as your ticket. If you can't find the email, no problem, we keep a list of ticket holders at the door. If you purchase tickets over the phone just show up and we will have your name on that list.
