Artonic is Hugely Entertaining.

Artonic Quartet returns with special guests Hanah Stuart, Nick Finch and Tasha Koontz in a new program featuring works for string quartet and soprano, an ensemble of particular beauty and unique narrative power. Presenting works by Jake Heggie, Caroline Shaw, Iranian-American Kian Ravaei, and AC/DC the quartet looks forward to wowing the Blanco crowd up close.
Artonic was founded in 2021 by long time friends and San Diego Symphony violinists Jing Yan Bowcott and Julia Pautz. As a string quartet Artonic believes that musical conversations - onstage with instruments and offstage with patrons - create the best performances, and that by juxtaposing historical and pop music, 21st century cutting edge music written by diverse people with the classics, new joy can be discovered by audiences and musicians alike. Through the pandemic the quartet discovered a remarkable shared musical chemistry, and have performed for a wide range of audiences in California and Mexico - from thousands of migrant children housed in San Diego, to symphony donors onstage at The Rady Shell, to delighted community members at libraries, museums, and concert halls across the region. In 2023 Artonic commissioned and premiered a new work for quartet and soprano which was featured in a front page San Diego Union Tribune article and gained national social media attention.
