Violinist Stephanie Sant’Ambrogio, founder and Artistic Director of the Cactus Pear Music Festival and a BPA audience favorite, is joined by pianist Scott Cuellar. Her 2016 appearance here with the Argenta Trio was a musical high. This program includes works by lesser known composers of the early 2oth century including Melanie Bonis whose beautiful, ethereal work was introduced to us by Sant’Ambrogio in that 2016 concert. They conclude with the rousing Suite Italienne by Stravinsky.

There is nothing traditional about Michael’s ‘Traditional Solo Concert Program” as he brings deeper meaning and revelation in his commentary and performance of the Liszt Sonata. Hear the drama of Faust, Mephistopheles, and Gretchen unfold... witness the magic of thematic transformation and behold the overwhelming power of salvation as told by Liszt in his magnificent and timeless Sonata in B Minor. This program is complimented with Beethoven’s Sonata Op. 2, No. 3 in C major, a set of works by Chopin, and a few fun, contemporary, finger-busting showpieces.

In our daily lives we have all kinds of connections – internet connection, airport connections, social media connections. But the most important kind of connection is that between two good friends. True friends know and understand us on a deeper level. That is, they really connect with us. And when a performer has a deep understanding of what the music means to them personally, they can connect with the audience and bring the audience into that understanding. The performers for this season are masters at connecting the audience with the music.

In addition to our patrons and audiences, Blanco Performing Arts' sponsors help make our excellent performances possible and bring these talented musicians to Blanco. Visit our sponsors and show them you support arts in the Hill Country.

Blanco Performing Arts' mission is to enhance the awareness and enjoyment of the arts and enrich the total community; and to become a cultural and educational resource for all.
