Kim’s previous performance in Blanco was an unforgettable experience: energetic, engaged, and emotional. He is joined for this concert Kennard, his longtime collaborator, a solo performer in his own right, and his musical equal. The Washington Post has called Kim “the next Yo-Yo Ma” and has praised Kennard’s “powerful and involved music making”. Music for this concert includes sonatas by Chopin and Franck.

An evening with the Miro

(February 17, 2018) It seemed as if the group were in our own home giving us our own special treat. If anyone did not enjoy the evening. I am truly sorry, we were given a stop in time, one of those rare occasions in life when most of the audience were spell bound by the performance. Each note from the individual instrument was heard but with a unique sound joined in unison as one. It’s no wonder Miro has drawn music lovers to their sounds from around the globe. I feel Blanco can once again be proud of an enchanting evening second to none. The gift of wonderful music from unquestioned talent, gave us a taste that many would envy. The last piece the Ashokan Farewell selected for Vickie, was played with the sensitivity so overwhelming with passion, it could not be repeated at any other time or place, or by others as the rendition by Miro, truly a magical moment.

Blake Turner and Friends Concert

(April 23, 2018) Again another wonderful evening, wonderful to see so many enjoying the music, from the initial lonely strings of the opening to the character of Texas music, a wonderful blend that could fit anyone’s taste. The second produced an enthralling adventure into the wilds of the islands of the North Sea and its venturesome people. facing odds that many would be unable to cope with. I felt being carried away at the romance and the dancing and general merry making as the music played on. The finale brought everything together, easy to imagine that all of the guests would have needed rest after such festivities. The audience were enthralled it seemed the players had been part of a group over many years. Their enthusiasm shone through and played into the hands of those in attendance.
