Wyndnwyre

Wyndnwyre Celtic Band

Wyndnwyre is a 4 piece ensemble that performs traditional instrumental and vocal music from the Celtic countries of Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

Jigs, reels, waltzes, hornpipes and slow airs all performed on traditional instruments will raise your spirits and calm your nerves.

Bill Klecka on Hammered Dulcimer, Guitar, Cittern, Bozouki, Mandolin and Vocals. He has been performing Bluegrass and Celtic music in Houston for the past 30 years. He is a founding member of the Band 25 years ago and creates many of the band’s arrangements. His dulcimer playing has a delicacy rarely heard on this ancient instrument.

Mark Johnson on Irish Flute, Low Whistle, Tin Whistles, Guitar, Percussion (Bodhran, Dumbek, Bells) and Vocals. He been with the band since 1985. Mark’s flute playing soars in a class of its own and his improvisational guitar accompaniment adds a driving force to the band’s sound.

Therese Honey on Celtic Harp and music history. Therese has performed at the Carolan Harp Festival in Keadue, Co. Roscommon , Ireland. She has played at the Stone Mountain Highland Games, Milwaukee Irish Festival, the Jackson, Mississippi CelticFest and North Texas Irish Festival on addition to teaching workshops around the country. Therese plays celtic dance tunes with rythmic dexterity and grace.

Kristin Coyle on Fiddle. Kristin joined the band in 2011. She grew up playing classical violin and, later, viola before discovering Celtic music. Her style weaves through the melody in twist and turns of intrigue and a hint of spice.

Wyndnwyre performs at festivals, concerts, weddings and private events throughout the Southwest. You can dance a jig of your own here in Blanco when these Celtic musicians grace us with their talents and skills.
